The Red Lion, Arundel

No Biggles, my name is Fraser and I am not related to Jasper.
I just feel pretty annoyed when I am taken for a fool, especially when I spend a tidy little sum of money on a Sunday lunch to treat my relatives and one of them ends up being sick on top of it.
+ I know what good pub food tastes like and believe me, try the food at the Red Lion and you will agree with me: INSIPID!!!
I can only say it again: this place should stick to drinks and good old jacket potatoes!

The Red Lion, Arundel

GO FOR DRINKS NOT FOR FOOD!!!
I couldn't more agree with Jasper2: the food was miserable (in my case totally tasteless) + my brother got food poisoned with his shrimp cocktail...

It was a Sunday lunch and there were 4 of us. Here's what we had: garlic bread, goat cheese salad, tomato&mozarella salad, potato wedges, prawn cocktail.
None of it had the slightest taste appart from the garlic bread which obviously tasted like garlic. The salads had no dressing at all on them. I asked the waiter and almost had to beg for a little olive oil & vinegar. The wedges were sprinkled with the tiniest bits of so-called bacon (and where was the brie?), were spongy and oily as hell. They obviously directly came out of the freezer in addition to having been heated up in a microwave.

As for the prawn cocktail, my brother ended up sick as hell just a few hours later, which ruined our 3 days tour of Sussex: THANK YOU RED LION!!!!

I deeply regret having taken my poor bro there + spent so much money@ this place (it was an expensive pub lunch) and regret having ever set a foot in this pub. Such a place is an insult to pub culture and also a disgrace for a place like Arundel: it's a real tourist trap!!! No wonder foreign visitors think our food sucks if they go to places like this!!!

Beer & service were OK though.
So Red Lion, why don't you stick to what you do best and serve drinks only? At least nobody will get hurt with a few beers and crips.
Or go back to good old jacket potatoes, fish & chips etc. which are impossible to miss.
