The Aqueduct Inn, Froncysyllte

The Aqueduct Inn, Froncysyllte .
A ray of hope for Froncysyllte real ale drinkers.....The Aqueduct inn which has been closed for some nine months has been sold to an enterprising pair of guys who plan to open again on Saturday 25th May 2013. @ midday.
The very Charismatic Paul Beard will be at the helm and has plans to run the Pub very much on the lines of involving the community. Having met Paul several times I can only say that if he can't make it work no one can. He is a real people person with a great sense of humour (essential in these challenging times).

Paul plans to initially have Greene King IPA and Hancocks HB which is a 3.6% session bitter originally brewed by Hancock's brewery................ along with a Natch west country cider. Will also be doing the usual keg Lagers no the non converted .
Food will be also a part of the service initially being hot & cold snacks.Hot snacks availabe at re launch as follows....Burgers in a bun £3.00 dressed with salad.. Bacon baps..£2.00, and Hot dogs. £1.50

Paul has already had a meeting with locals in the community centre in order to let them know the initial plans ,and crucially asking the locals what they would like to see and have...now thats a real step in the right direction.Paul said they have been bowled over by the welcome from the locals at the meeting , and got some very useful feedback.
The exterior will be re painted by a local company, and the seating is to be made comfortable with new fillings and covers....also the former "very red Bar" will be "toned down" I am informed.......
The re launch on May 25th will be celebrated with a 72 hour "discount drinks promotion" ( I would call it a very big happy hour ). There are plans to introduce a quiz night with prizes like a gallon of beer for the winning team !! ...also thinking of trying a music quiz . I wish them every success .
