The Boars Head, Brecon

Shocking! The pub looks promising – nicely presented outside and the interior gives the impression of being recently decorated, but that’s as far as it goes.
Eventually someone came in from the back bar to serve us. There were 10 beer engines on the bar, but only 4 ales on, and one of those, Exmoor Fox, was horrible. We also ordered 2 gin and tonics, but were short measured on one of them and when raised with the barmaid was told it was because there was more ice in the other one! Despite the temptation to walk out, we stayed.
We were about half way through our drinks when all hell broke out in the back bar. There was the sound of breaking glasses and clearly a fight ensued which spilled onto the street outside. At no time did any of the staff come to the front bar to put us at our ease, or explain/apologise for the disruption.
Finishing our drinks, we left as quickly as we could, saying goodbye to the empty bar, and will be very unlikely to return.
