The Horniman at Hays, Southwark

Popped in for a quick pint on the way to The Ceremony of the Keys at the Tower of London. Great location by the river but so busy it ruined the atmosphere somewhat.

The Timothy Taylor Ale was superb and well priced - under 3 which is a plesant surprise in the city.

The Bunch of Grapes, London Bridge

We had a meal and drinks there last week Friday after work. The upstairs lounge was lovely and not over packed so made for a pleasant experience. The service was great and the food excellent. Great value for money and the beer batter fish and chips I had was awesome.

Unfortunately they were having problems with their ale lines so couldn't sample one. Pity.

Do recommend for good priced pub food and a quick pint.

The Boathouse, Putney

We ate out at the Boathouse on a week night and were terribly disappointed in the quality of food. The burgers we had were certainly not worth nearly 14 (GBK down the road is much better value for money). My father-in-law ordered a side of veggies (in season) and all he got was a bowl of green beans.

On top of that, the gents upstairs were out of order so a trek to the basement didn't make things better.

Doubt I'd go back there for a meal. Pity as the view is wonderful. An opportunity going amiss me thinks.
