You will probably eat glass in most of the pubs in Bulwell, but this is probably the number one mecca now for stolen goods and dodgy characters

The Magna Charta, Lowdham

This pub is extremely good value for money in terms of food. I don't know if they have had a recent change of management, but I have noticed a real improvement in this respect, and in terms of the friendliness of the manager. Service is prompt, the beer garden is pleasant, and you get a good cross-section of people.

The Rambler Country House, Edale

I completely agree with the negative reviews about this pub. The staff are extremely rude and arrogant. Added to which you have to spend �10 before you can use a deibt card - please can somebody drag this place into the 20th century? The food is overpriced and nothing special. The indoors lacks any atmosphere whatsoever. It's a shame, because a landlord and staff with the right attitude could turn this place into a real jewel owing to its location.
