Uncle Tom's Cabin, Wincanton

I went in with a friend (who doesn't drink a lot) for one pint on a Saturday lunch time. We came out 5 hours later, drunk, smiling and skint. A great selection of ciders and beers and a friendly bunch of staff and customers. What more could you want from a pub. Thoroughly recommended.

The Glue Pot, Swindon

One of the better pubs in Swindon which isn't saying much. The beer is good and the customers are friendly. It's a shame the bar staff are so miserable otherwise I'd go there more often. They often treat their customers like a nuisance which is a shame. The beer's good though.

The Lansdowne Strand Hotel, Calne

I visited last weekend and I was served a pint of Arkells 3Bs drawn from a platic container in a cardboard box on a table behind the bar. It was warm, sour and completely flat.

I've been drinking beer in pubs since the 1960s and I can't remember ever being served a pint that bad. It was shameful. I went in to eat but thought better of it after tasting the beer.
