The Quay, Wareham

Great shame this, its a chain pub that is currently awaiting a regular landlord, the several managers that have been there have not had the heart to bring it back to its former glory. First impression, hanging baskets empty and hanging off the walls, paint cracked and peeling and dirty paved area to the front, a solitory sign promises good food, but kinda gives the impression that its desperate. Inside they stock Ringwood which is good but the pint is average, the place stinks of smoke and when I ordered my food, the cook? was hesitant to get off her bar stool, put her fag out and go to work. Landlord told me to wait to be served as he was washing glasses. Struck me as a "Chav" pub with baseball caps and football shirts on the few customers. Not all the pubs fault, the council should get rid of the car park at the front and turn it into a water frontage by the river. Such a waste. Enterprise Inns and Wareham council SORT IT OUT!

The Yachtsman, Hamworthy

Pub situated not a million miles from Hamworthy park and a couple of slipways for boaters so you get a strange mix of families and wannabe sea-capiins! Generally the food is ok, nothing to shout about and the beer is badger so again nothing to shout about. However, its a nice enough convieniant pub which houses a few clubs gatherings (like the hamworthy dive club) and has the odd event like a fireworks night. I would say .... average

The Holes Bay, Poole

Another brewers fair pub, good for that quick meal and a half a shandy. Purpose built next to a travel inn a couple miles outside poole and depends on the weary traveller for trade. No atmosphere, views across poole backwater (seeing past the dual carraige way). Sort of place to take the mother in law if you want to get back quick.
