The Tap, Eastham

Cracking pub when I've been there. Biker's pub. Wear a tattoo - you'll fit in better.
I have found the place very welcoming.
Good selection of Ales.

The Cottage Inn, Wellington

Best pub in Wellington to my tastes. Good real ales on tap - regularly feature Doom Bar.
Mostly a "locals" pub, and welcoming, too. Well-behaved dogs admitted. Pool, skittles and an infernal duke box, but not too loud, and not piped throughout the pub.
Great place for a good pint and a chat.

Culm Valley Inn, Cullompton

This is about as good as it gets. One of my regular haunts. At least 5 different ales on every week, always in excellent condition. Great atmosphere, with live music a couple of times a month. V popular with locals, friendly bar staff to boot. Dogs welcome, if well behaved. Plastic for payment of bills is utterly unwelcome, as are mobile phones. All food freshly cooked on the premises upon ordering. you'll wait a bit to get it, but it's worth it. I've never yet had a poor meal there.
