St Margarets Tavern, St Margarets
OK in the evenings and during the week with decent food. Can get mobbed at the weekends.
Genuine question that no-one at the pub seems to want to answer though - Why, when the pub management have no problem showing the rugby and cricket do they not also show football? I was sneered at when I asked by a member of staff with the reply 'We don't want those sort of people in here'. As someone who has never caused trouble in a pub ever in my life I took great offence to this and has left a sour taste in the mouth. I also left the lady in question in doubt as to how I felt about her snide comment.
As I said a genuine question - If it is a policy of the pub then fair enough but can anyone confirm this is a brewery / management decision? With long Winter nights approaching it would be fantastic to sit in on a Wednesday night and watch the football with my friends and a few pints in my local. Obviously some people will disagree with any sports been shown on the TV (if so why the rugby and cricket) but there is the smaller front bar which would be ideal for the purpose.
