The Abergavenny Arms Hotel, Frant

Went there yesterday for the first time. Friendly welcome from dog, locals and owner. Shewn through to restaurant, offered choice of four menus (standard, fish, specials and /prix fixe/. Chose from the last (two courses for GBP 6-95), I had cheese souffle followed by wood pigeon breast with mash in a red wine sauce, wife had pate followed by fish and chips. Outstanding value (the fish-and-chips included two large pieces of haddock). Total bill inc. two alcohol-free Becks, a pint of orange juice and lemonade and a coffee was less than GBP 23-00.
