The Ship, Rotherhithe

This is a fantastic, smartly maintained little pub in a quiet, pleasant setting close to the river. It doesn't keep a big range of beers, but that's no drawback as the main attraction is its consistently outstanding and well-kept Young's bitter - a rare treat for real ale lovers. It's a traditional locals' pub with many loyal regulars, but none the less friendly and welcoming to those who stop off for a pint. It's a great place to watch the footy, with several largish screens dotted about, and a party atmosphere when England are playing in a major tournament. Other entertainments include a well-stocked jukebox and the pub dog and cat, who do very good Tom and Jerry impressions!
