A weakness of pub reviews is that sometimes they are based on occasional or even single visits. Over recent years, months and weeks, a noticeable number of regulars, some of decades standing, have been migrating to other hostelries in the area which, at one time, could not match the charm and ambience of the Cannon.

Cannon Inn, Earsdon
The Cannon changed hands around Christmas 2014 and, reportedly, the atmosphere has been transformed with long-standing customers made to feel welcome again. However, some were made so welcome elsewhere that they now have divided loyalties.
