The Woolpack, Elstead

Sadly only TEA and Doombar on offer. TEA was an eye watering £4.75/pint !!

Sorry, won't be returning at those prices.

>and this is the only pub i've found in the south-east that serves mild!

You may be interested to know that you were only 10 mins walk from a pub which has a mild permanently on tap (as well as at least four other ales).

White Lion, Aldershot - the brewery tap of the FFF Brewery.

The Chequers, Yielden

Unfortunately the Chequers has had a refurb and loses it's original "pub character". The number of available seats is pretty poor now and the beer prices have taken a hike. What a shame!

The Shepherd and Flock, Farnham

Went in last week and balked at the food prices - left without ordering. A shame as the beers are great and the food has been good when I've eaten there previously. Too expensive for me now though so will go elsewhere for food.

The Jolly Farmer, Runfold

Closed: Apparently now destined to become a Chinese restaurant.

13 May 2008 16:40

The Standard of England, Ash

Closed and boarded up currently (March 08).

The Swan, Farnborough

Unfortunately this "pub" now seems like a place for the beer drinker to avoid. What a shame.

The Woolpack, Elstead

The Woolpack is back on form!

Visited in November, food was delicious and the Abbot from the keg just superb.

Well done to the current incumbents, I hope that 2008 will see you get back the clientle who the previous owners put off. A reputation is hard to gain but easily lost.

The Donkey, Tilford

Also heard lots of swearing from the kitchen, pretty unprofessional really. Not in a rush to go back.

The White Lion, Aldershot

If it's true that FFF are selling this place then that's a real shame, I actually had decent ale within walking distance of my house! The headcount had seemed to be increasing recently also, in previous months is was very quiet in there even on a Friday evening. Guess the local's just don't like decent ale ;-)

Another nail in the coffin for real ale in Aldershot.

The Wynnstay Arms Hotel, Machynlleth

Stayed here recently for a night. Nice place.

But 3/pint for the Reverend James ? It wasn't that good!

The White Lion, Aldershot

Can only echo the comments below. Following the refurb we now have a great pub serving six real ales in great condition. Will be even better after 1st July '07 :-)

The Royal Oak, Wood Street

It's all true! Great pub for real ale fans.

I do find it rather smokey though and so am looking forward to visiting after 1st July 2007 :-)

The Dover Arms, Ash

Terry - good on you for responding. I may well pop in again to see the changes you're making but to be honest the p*ssed up blokes at the bar (one of which claimed to be family of the landlord) did the place no favours at all. Cheers.

The Dover Arms, Ash

Oh dear. Another one to cross off the list.

Always used to be good for a decent pint to drink in a quiet environment. Went in recently to find that new owners in residence - the landlords Dad + his mates were p*ssed up in the bar being generally obnoxious. Beer wasn't in good condition either, shall not return.

The White Lion, Aldershot

Marvellous - let us know when you reopen after the refit!

I wouldn't mind if there was no footie, I prefer my pubs to have no telly/music/fruit machines etc :-)

The White Lion, Aldershot

Apparently taken over by the Triple F brewery and will be reopening in Jan 2007. Fantastic news, FFF beers are lovely.

The Donkey, Tilford

We had a good meal here. Staff friendly, beer good and food tasty. Menu wasn't vast and pretty expensive but we'll return.

24 Nov 2006 12:11

The Flowerpots Inn, Cheriton

Apparently the brewery is now back up and running as "The Flowerpot Brewery".

25 Sep 2006 09:20

The Royal Oak, Pirbright

Oh dear....

Popped in for a few pints recently, all of which were cloudy. Used to be a great pub for quality ales, not any longer it would seem - shame.

25 Jun 2006 11:40

The Jolly Farmer, Runfold

Good beer but food overpriced for what you get. The "half spit roast chicken" we had was barely more than a piece of leg and after asking what the pie of the day was (I was told it was chicken) then I was surprised to be served steak and kidney. Friendly owners though and nice and clean but won't be visiting for food again.

26 May 2006 22:44

The Flowerpots Inn, Cheriton

I believe that the brewery ceased production at the end of April 2006, what a shame!

12 May 2006 22:41

The Good Intent, Puttenham

Superb pub, always has a great beer selection on and Wednesday fish and chip nights are a must!

6 May 2006 19:50

The Chequers, Yielden

Superb beer collection and cheap too!

29 Apr 2006 21:45

The Dover Arms, Ash

Always has a guest ale or two on and keeps them in excellent condition. If you're after a raucous night out then this isn't the venue. Very quiet but with a high regular count, they don't bite though :-)

Worth popping in for a pint if you're waiting for a train at the nearby station.

7 Apr 2006 08:52

The Swan, Farnborough

Earthy pub, always has a great beer selection on. Good, honest pub grub. It's not the Ritz but doesn't pretend to be.
