Nags Head On The Thames, Abingdon

This pub keeps getting better and better. More refurbishments have been made to the garden including a good size decking. There were at least 6 ales on, with a little menu explaining the method and taste, and there is no problem if you would like to have a sample before buying a full pint - a nice touch. I had a couple of pints of Grain which went down very well in the sunshine. Wholeheartedly recommend, although the loos could do with a bit of a refurb, but I guess that will follow shortly.

Brewery Tap, Abingdon

Fantastic pub. Staff are great and really friendly.

Food is only served at lunchtime (although up to 3:30pm) and is always fantasic, really good menu and excellent quality (local where they can) produce is used.

Does get quite smokey on a Friday / Saturday night and the drinks are not cheap - but that keeps out the riff-raff!!!

Great jukebox - we spend a fortune in that alone every visit.

The Pack Horse, Milton Hill

This pub has gone through so many changes in the last 10+ years, some good, some bad.

The current owners have been here for about 5 years I think. Really friendly and welcoming.

Food is always good, but definitely book a table at the weekend. You can either eat in the bar or in a separate no smoking restaurant.

Beer is always good, I'm afraid I tend to stick with Old Speckled Hen, but there's plenty to try as well as the usual lagers, cider and alcopops.

Nice beer garden, either on patio or on grass and nice setting.
