The Rose and Crown, Limpley Stoke

Visited on Sunday for the second time. Roast was lovely last time, but this time I went for the Beef Curry...very nice! Rhubarb crumble for pudding was lovely as well, then washed it down with two pints of Butcombe Bitter!
Prices are about average, portions are quite large. The pub was busy, but we were served quickly and together (7 of us). Everyone was happy with their meal.

The Bath Brew House, Bath

Best pub in the south west for atmosphere. Staff and regulars are friendly.
I would agree that the Midland was a better name though. Also I would reccomend an open mind and at least 6 pints BEFORE entering.

The Brunel, Chippenham

Definitely the centre of all the action, plus handy for takeaway location.

Mill House, Chippenham

Used to be ok, now it is poor. Last time I visited I think they had the wrong barrels on the wrong pumps, as the Blackthorn tasted of Carling and vice versa.

The Old Lane, Chippenham

Can't comment on food because the first chance I had to visit since the makeover, the kitchen was shut! Still, definitely better than before, but as everdean has pointed out, it is crammed with young'uns. For some its one step up from sitting on the wall outside Tesco's! Which is good.

The George Inn, Lacock

Quality food, quality drink selection, quality pub.
The best in Lacock. I love the ploughmans!

The Luckwell Hotel, Ashton

My regular for matchdays for the last few seasons. I have tried most others in the area and in my opinion the Luckwell is the best for a pre match pint/s. Good rolls on sale which have often saved my guts from the large quantity of Blackthorn which go down a treat. Not too rough, so small amounts of away fans would be ok. Staff are friendly and quick. Not the pub for the fine ale drinker, or fine cider drinker to be honest. Large TV screen, ideal for footy.
