Martins Wine Bar, Hammersmith

Can't work out this bar...it's shut when other pubs are open and vice versa...does it actually have set opening hours?

The Queens Head, Hammersmith

I've only been here a few times but I've not had any problems though I've never eaten food. It's great for the summer with the outside seating but I do accept what some of people say about the staff (not too positive about life) and the atmosphere. My advice, go with a group of friends and make the atmosophere yourselves.....

I love this pub. I've only ever had positive experiences with the the staff here...they don't all scream last orders at you but come round and ask you if you'd like another drink before they close the bar. Was busy over the world cup and the atmosphere was good so obvously there's plently of people who agree with me.

Attracts the after work crowd, quieter in the evenings though. I feel comfortable going in alone sitting on the sofa to read a book and have a glass of wine which I reckon says a lot for the feel of the place. (Also slightly negative or positive depending what you're after-they do sometimes rent the place out, I went for a Sunday lunch a few weeks ago to find it was shut for a private function.)

Thai food is good if you like thai, it's not my favourite but still enjoyed it. They also do takeaway.

Best of all....it's staggering distance from my front door-horray! :)

The Cumberland Arms, West Kensington

Decent pub..great mediterranean food if on the expensive side..(don't expecting a burger n' chips or Sunday roast) and there's papers to read (kept my boyfriend happy waiting for me in the hairdressers)

Nice to have places to sit outside even if it is next to the bus stop...thoroughly recommended for a quiet evening down the pub!

The Fox, West Kensington

I really like this pub. A bit scary from the outside but not bad at all inside...yea there's a mix of people but that's half the fun. Depends what you're after, kind of has a social club like feel-generally friendly staff, decent pool table, sports TV's. I reckon good for a day time drink, maybe not a full eve...Not a bad place to start the pub crawl though before winding your way to Hammersmith or Fulham!
