Great pub but I still can't fathom out why it isn't open until 7pm on Sundays. I would have visited at least a dozen times more this year if it could be open when people most want it to be.

The Fountains Abbey, Paddington
Proper London pub but frequented by tourists which keeps it interesting. Met my better half in here so it must be good.

The Pride of Paddington, Paddington
Dreadful, full of tourists trying to understand if they're in the right place and if this is really what London is like. Also last time I was in, there was a group of about 12 Millwall hooli's [maybe the only place would let them in..?] They then proceeded to fight amongst themselves as the tourists mouths dropped to the floor.

Nice friendly, cosy place, ideal for a quick couple. Does cheap tourist food upstairs which is reasonable.

My favourite pub in London and I'd say I'm talking thousands. Being going here over 20 years and its still the same now as it was in the mid eighties. Stillbeats the hell out of the tourist trap Fox over the road and is full of genuine friendly people who know there music and the passing inquisitive types who look around, nod, finish there pint and disappear outside the sidedoor. Drink snakebite and black in here,it's good for the soul.

One of the best pubs in Soho to catch up with people and hear yourself speak. Good bar service, good for the football if you get in early, lively and excellent for hanging around outside getting drunk on a nice evening.

The Rose and Crown, Woodford Green
Standard 'mans' pub. Decent beer, lots of blokes talking loudly and getting drunk slowly. Good place in the summer. Not over-exciting for the ladies I'd guess.

Rocky's it is. Upbeat, bright and fairly empty on a Friday night at 9pm. Seems the Fashionista hordes have moved on..

The Three Colts, Buckhurst Hill
Nice place, no music, smallish but decent for a local.

The Monkhams Inn, Buckhurst Hill
Quite possibly the worst music I've ever heard in a pub when its not trying to be kitsch. Eurovision song contest ditties from the 80s had people nodding and tapping their feet. Coupled with the rude landlady who simply ignored requests to talk with her, this place would go to the wall without the pool tables keeping the punters trickling in.

The Langthorne, Stratford
The home of east end veteran 'mo'. Interesting character, most common question ' who was the last person to score a penalty in an FA cup final'. Friendly bar staff, good for the football.
