The Queens Head, Seddlescombe

Pleasant looking country village pub with easy paking and quiet location, often inhabited by foul mouthed pikey chav scum from the local estate, oh and the beer is expensive as well.

The Plough, Cock Marling

It never ceases to amaze me that when a negative comment or two is published about a pub it suddenly attracts a flurry of new registrations from "people" or person who make their one and only post to say how wonderful the pub is, they also just happen to know the owners/managers, whatever. I dine out regularly, at least 3 times a week, I eat all sorts of food in pubs, The Plough at Udimore as it is known is OK, just that, it is not a dive nor is it spot on, the food is moderate the ales are mostly OK and I have had a bad pint in therte which was cheerfully exchanged, overall it rates a 6-7 out of 10 in my opinion.

The White Horse, Hurst Green

I tried this pub again, the food now tastes as good as it looks but I still do not like the enforced service charge, it's a PUB!

The Curlew, Bodiam

Beer? food? it's all good at this pub, nay excellent is more apt! Waiting times for meals can be a bit of a problem but the end result is wonderful, even the Wild Mushroom at Westfield pales by comparison. Truly special.

The Chequers Inn, Battle

We revisited this week, it was better than the last time, may just have been teething problems, recommended now.

The Jenny Lind, Hastings

I have had a meal at this place as well and it was rubbish, I cant comment on the kitchens but I am always suspicious when someone registers on this site to comment on just one pub, maybe an interested party?

The Standard Inn, Rye

Very overpriced food of an OK sort of standard, seems to be a bit of a theme locally? maybe all the publicans are trying to fleece the tourists?

The Royal Oak, Pett

The welcome from the young barmaid, Clare? was good as was the beers and wine, the meals were sub standard, the gammon steaks must have been sliced with a razor, they were so thin as to almost be transparent and the promise of real home made desserts was alluring but in realty they were bloody awful, we will try again though, maybe it was just a bad day.

Ye Olde Kings Head, Battle

Good welcome and nice lunch food, definitely the hidden one to find when visiting Battle, double thumbs up.

The White Horse, Hurst Green

A very expensive "gastro" pub with the service charge to match! pretty food that looks better than it tastes, I won't be visiting again.

The Castle, Bodiam

Average food in a nice pub, bit expensive for what it is though, middleish.

The New Inn, Winchelsea

We went here a few weeks ago, we waited forever for the food to arrive which when it eventually turned up was poor to say the least, I wish I had read all of this before visiting this place.

The Chequers Inn, Battle

I went here last week as a "treat" it's nothing like it used to be, the food is nowhere near as good as it was the last few times I went which was last year. I don't want to go back again.
