Cobbetts, Dorking

Popped in today to get some lovely bottles.

There were only seven fantastic beers on draught at the time. Clearly this is not enough for a connoisseur such as Slerpy.

I am sure if he looks hard enough he will find a pub in Dorking he likes. I mean somebody must sell Heineken.

The Ark Royal, Wells next the Sea

What a dump.

Ship Inn, Brancaster

A very nice pub. Good selection of ales served by friendly staff. It is not cheap but then most other pubs in the area are the same. Did not eat there but the food I saw coming out looked nice.

The Angel Inn, Bowness on Windermere

Nice interior, but not cheap

John Peel Inn, Bowness on Windermere

It is hard to understand how this pub has such a low rating.

White Horse Inn, Washford

We stayed in this pub for 3 nights. I can not parise it any higher. The food was wonderful and well priced. A good selection of beer, served by very nice staff. The accomodation far exceeded our expctations at the price we paid.

The Harrow Inn, Caterham

I suspect what it tells you Brightboy is that there is a recession at the moment. Still the best pub for miles.

The Ladybird, Caterham

This is a new build pub on the old Caterham Barracks. It has 4 beers on pretty much all the time, some of which are changing guest beers. The food is also very good. A welcome change to some of the grot that is on the hill.

The Ramblers Rest, Chipstead

If you wish to pay well over the odds for a bit of pub grub then by all means go here. If however you do not want to - go elsewhere.

The Plough, Bletchingley

This pub can be very hit and miss. Sometimes very good and sometimes very very bad. One of the main problems are the bar staff. They try their best but are always understaffed. Beers are normally Courage Best & Directors, which are always well kept. The food is good on most occasions.

The Vine Inn, St Helens

A proper village pub. Good beer and food, would gladly spend many an evening in here.

The Hare and Hounds, Arreton

Good selection of drinks, and a very nice bite of food as well. Not that cheap but its a touristy place so you expect it. Well worth a visit.

The Fighting Cocks, Arreton

A rather nice pub with good beer. However, if you want to eat as well go somewhere else otherwise you may die of hunger.

The Hole int' Wall, Bowness on Windermere

This pub used to be a great place but has become a vicitm of its own success. I would imagine that outside of the tourist season it would still be ok. But at peak times give it a miss.

The Angel Inn, Bowness on Windermere

A very modern style pub, but the drinks were good and the staff friendly. Did not eat but the food going past us looked very nice. However it is not a cheap place to go.

The Royal Oak, Bowness on Windermere

A good old local pub, plenty of beers an and freindly staff. One of the better pubs in the area.

The Pilgrim, Caterham

I used to go here now and then, but have given up now. The service is appaling. They now advertise a beer garden, which is actually a small dirty patio area. I know its popular at the weekend but if you are over 25 you will hate it.

The Crab and Lobster, Bembridge

The views fro this pub are amazing. However the food I am afraid to say is not. We both had lasagne which turned up about 5 minutes after ordering it. Suspect it was frozen then nuked. The food ws not awfull by any means but it was just pub food - nothing more nothing less.

There are better places to eat in Bembridge.
