I am the new manager of the City Barge, I have been here for one month now and have made some large changes.
I believe that we have had many problems in the past but I can assure you all that they have been dealt with.
We have significantly improved the Sunday lunch menu and I am confident that you will not find a better Sunday roast in this area.
Our kitchen team are now producing great quality food 100% of the time and there is never more than a fifteen minute wait.
Both bars are now fully staffed and therefore there is never a wait for drinks service.
We have become dog friendly and allow dogs into our lower bar all day.
We are also family friendly but have very srict rules on the behaviour of children. We do not allow children to run around/scream and have bought many toys, games, puzzle books, jigsaws etc to keep children amused whilst parents are enjoying their food and drink.
The layout of the pub has changed and we are now a lot more spacious and customer friendly.
We are rotating our real ales every week, with London Pride as our main stay and two others changing daily.
As far as cleanliness is concerned we are working to the very highest standards.
We are due for a major refurbishment next march but untill then will be striving to reach the highest levels of customer service and standards possible.
We hope that you will give us another try so we can show you what we can do.

The City Barge, Chiswick

Last summer the car park was newly tarmact and a new layout reducing its carpark cappacity from about 15 vehicles to 8 including 1 disabled space.Every time i go there the managers huge 4 wheel drive is parked in the disabled space,a old capri also belonging to the manager maybe for their Sunday drives, but the managment do also have a Harley Davidson so its good to see they are doing their little something for the enviroment.
This pub will always do good trade becouse of its location but of the 3 pubs along SOTG the Bell and Crown is best for beer and feeling like your one of the locals. The Bulls Head for good food and quaint rambleing rooms, and the City Barge for the Basil Faulty managment experiance. Its even the Thames least favorite as its the only one of the 3 it floods.

The Lord Moon Of The Mall, Whitehall

Went to this pub yesterday looking for food at 10pm,and was pleased to find they still served food untill 11pm.We ordered 4 different meals at about eight pounds each and we all was very impressed with the quality and quantity of the meals.better than alot of resterants you might happen to visit.dessert also excellent too.In very relaxed high ceiling and walls packed with books makes for a pleasant meal/drink a stones throw fron trafalgar sq.
