The Jolly Farmer, Weybridge

I too have reason to dislike the set up at the Jolly Farmer, one month ago I applied to a company who were advertising for Pub Managers, Marion Healy got in touch with me and called me to Farnborough for an interview. I drove over 200 miles each way, all went well and I was all but offered the Jolly Farmer there and then. Go and have a look, try a pint and let me know what you think. If its ok you can start in two weeks time she said.
I had a look, loved the pub and thought what great things I could do there, but the beer was lousy (Summer Lightning, lines need either cleaning or replacing), and phoned back. Then phoned back the following day, and the day after.
After a week of no responses I decided to email her to see what was going on. Her answer was slightly apologetic in as much as she owned up to having no control over that pub as she and her husband were at loggerheads over the business and it would be down to him, not her!
Thanks a bunch eh! 440 miles to an interview for a job which doesnt exist, no explanation, no comeback. Just a cup of coffee. This is no way to run a business and I can only wish you all the best of luck in prying the lease away and either getting someone else in or running it yourselves.

The O'Briens, Brentford

Derek has left, but Marcin is trying to do his best, the beers are finally improving as is his and his staff's English. And he's got the music back, and the quiz. I think it will be ok now.

The New Oxford, Salford

Was this here 20 years ago? If it was it must have been different. I went into Manchester with my Mum the other day and she pointed this place out to me so we called in for a quick one. What a gem! several ales I didn't know plus aome I do. No problem having tasters, and the only beer available amongst the plethora of keg's that most people would know was Guinness. Unfortunately I don't come home as often as I should, but I will be using this place in future.
Good friendly, knowledgable barstaff too!

The Magpie and Crown, Brentford

Called in for a couple last night, wonderful pint of Elderquad followed by a very well kept Chocolate Orange Stout. Sasly tyhough there was no Marble beers available, there usually is and its the only pub outside Manchester I know that stocks it. Great pub though.

The Fox, Twickenham

I called in here the other day, it was busy, but the bar staff where chatting to one another then spotted the person behind me and served them first. Hardly competent staff in my book. Then to add insult, the pint on Timmy Taylors Landlord was warm. i only had the one.
