The Grand Junction Arms, Bulbourne

Sitting in the beer garden on a soectacular evening... not enjoying the chips which are hard and clearly not regarded as important enough to worry about.I was here a few weeks ago following rumours of a pub transformed from the previous carnage - to some extent it is true but that's of little comfort when the staff are curt and lippy and service chronically slow. To be fair I came back here as the chips were so good last time but they have some sort of kitchen work to rule issue and wont even take your order before 6.00 ... the chef's shift starts then so he is immediately inundated - hence the hastily cooked chips.
Plus side: sizeable beer garden, canal side views and good range of beers.

The Stables Bar, Antrim

Gothic panygerics meets sky sports. Nonetheless a pleasant location to while away the day in pursuit of winners with the bookies next door. If things don't go your way, the off license is handily situated and the Castle Grounds beckons you with your Diamond Ice.

- good no frills food

- good pint of Pride and Sidepocket and no complaints from my lagery friends either.

The Duke of Edinburgh, Wanstead

I have visited this pub many times and always found an authentic bunch of people, good beer and extremely pleasant staff.
I would recommend highly.
