The Fez Bar, Putney

cant believe this place is still going, used to drink here years ago with mates after a night of debauchery in Fulham and decided once again to take a look a few months back.......still the same, does what it says on the tin, if you're absolutely leathered looking for a bit of last minute booty this is the place.....thats if you can manage NOT to get into a fight with the roid raging doormen!!

the pub garden was just about to undergo a makeover before the couple left as apparently the estate agent who owned the building told them they werent going to renew their lease as they were looking to redevelop it into flats so the couple ended their lease, shame really as they were lovely and did a really nice job with the place and the wife of the so called 'long suffering husband' would have been heavily pregnant at the time 'cricket chris' wrote his review and therefore was most likely a little fed up, they were both lovely people and I hear they have since moved to Australia, good luck to them. Went in the other day to find a bunch of lazy kids running the place now, a guy who worked for the previous couple is still there and I dont remember him being so rude or lazy but he literally ignored me while I waited for him to finish his conversation with a short, fat Bob Hoskins look alike who sounded like he was from Essex somewhere banging on abou the 'wicked drinking session last night' AWESOME, i'll be drinking elsewhere now!

Yes, the garden IS lovely and yes, the sunday lunch is BRILLIANT also the rest of the staff are quite friendly and helpful but clearly 'BCM1981' couldnt be arsed to read my review properly as it wasnt an 'assessment of the staff' it was my opinion on how I was treated by a particluar staff member, after all lets face it that's exactly what people join this website to do.........give their opinions!!!! Judging by other comments on there im not alone in refusing to praise a pub that rewards territorialism and if having a say about that makes me a 'cretin' then I suppose im a 'cretin' for lack of a better word AND proud of it, if 'BCM1981' cant handle a relatively tame review on a pub they obviously seem to like then I suggest they find another review site.

This is a great little pub thats just had a refurb and new owners who are quite possibly the nicest, welcoming pair i've ever had the pleasure of meeting, the Ale is delicious as the new owners have a very strict line cleaning rota, so i'm told and the food is even better, it's supposed to be traditional English pub food but as far as i'm concerned it's way above pub standard soggy fish & chips & at a very decent price surprisingly for Twickenham. 5 big screens and a cracking beer garden with outdoor bbq which I can only imagine go down a treat on Rugby days? Still finding their feet in the area but by far one of the better pubs in Twickenham at the moment, a quality 9 out of 10 pub with staff, owners, beer & food to match.......my new local!

The Twickenham Tup, Twickenham

Now The Red Lion and supposedly a live music venue this place sux big time, a muddled mixture of fruit machines, out of place tv screens, a makeshift stage and the dirtiest looking staff ive seen outside of Camden. The clientele of bikers, over the hill rockers, skint meloncholy emo-ish under 21's and what seems to be the staff's friends and family (children included) seem to be holding onto a reputation that was never really that good to start with but somehow still seems cool to these people. The drinks are so cheap but that doesnt mean they're any good, cheapest nastiest wine in Twickers and randon crappy beers that obviously no one else in Twickers is embaressed enough to stock, cheap drinks does equal good pub and with their music license recently pulled im not really sure if anything what would attract anyone to this pub? Oh and if you need to use the toilets HOLD IT trust me you've never seen anything like them before and will never want to again!

The William Web Ellis, Twickenham

This is where old people come to die and Chavvs come to revel in their own mediocrity, if you fit into either category then by all means go nuts in here otherwise try any other pub in Twickenham, no really, ANY OTHER PUB!

This pub WOULD be busier if the lanlords wife wasnt sucking on a lemon while making every effort to make sure you feel as uncomfortable as humanly possible! Landlord is fickle also choosing to interact in conversation only when his other half isnt about, pity as this is a lovely little pub with character, charm and loyal clientele. Not a fan of Youngs, bit cheap and nasty but would definately support this place a little more if the atmosphere and proprietors stepped it up a notch.

The Eel Pie, Twickenham

Cracking little boozer with great landlords & real ale, a little bit of an older crowd but polite nonetheless, amoung Twickenhams best.

The Cabbage Patch, Twickenham

How this place can warrant charging 3.75 for Kronenbourg & 3.95 for Guinness is a f%$king joke! I would usually just say avoid on Rugby days but just avoid at all costs really, dont do it to yourself unless you're willing to take out a morgage for a night out here? Oh and the food is disastrous.......they should be paying YOU to eat it!

The Bear, Twickenham

Pretentious, over priced, feel like your bothering the staff when asking for a drink especially when it's busy & worst of all, it's always so dark in there! Last time I was in there I had a cubicle door swung into my back by 2 chavvy girls coming out of the same toilet wiping their red and irritated noses......maybe they'd caught colds while in the there snorting coke off the grubby toilet seats that 200 odd people had placed their nasty asses on that night? Wont be going back!

The Clubhouse, Twickenham

Just had a refurb from the hideous black exterior and ridiculous pink interior, new owners, new name, new menu, all good!
Much improved and can quite hoenstly say it's a much nicer place to go from the staff who actually know what they're doing to the Landlords who make every effort to talk to you at some stage of your visit!
2 pool tables, 5 big screens, lovely secret garden, live bands Sat. nights, nice, traditional, not trying to be something it's not..........simple!
Been back a few times and havent been dissapointed yet.......oh and the Scampi & Chips.........QUALITY!
