The Funky End, Aldershot

This place smelt bad! The limited selection of beer available was served in dirty glasses and tasted as bad as the glass suggested! Needs a long hard look at its cleanliness. Shame as the decor is good, could be a good venue, well positioned in a town that has very little to offer in the way of good bars/pubs.

The Perseverance, Bethnal Green

Watched a load of sport in here last Saturday, good beer, very good service from proper bar staff that could handle a busy bar whilst retaining a sociable demeanor. Not the most salubrious but beer was fine, very mixed crowd, the Hoxton trendies from the farmers market through to the pie & mash crowd. Good buzz though!
There was an annoying little Welshman who was far too vocal and managed to even alienate the other Celts in the pub, he was deftly dealt with by the manager; no dramas just a quick word, very refreshing!
Will return!

The Golden Heart, Shoreditch

Had to reassess myt view of Sandra....I was recently inbibing in the Golden Heart only to be confronted by what appeared to be quite a drunken Landlady. To my, my mate's and if I'm not mistaken the landladies daughter's embarrassment I was told I was a bully and to leave as I was barred!
It's safe to say I wasn't expecting that!! I have no idea whatsoever about what was going on and a strong urge to find out what it is she thought was going on, I won't, I will take my custom else where! Maybe I'm not trendy enough!

The Cockpit, Blackfriars

Great pub, great atmosphere, great beers and food!! Fantastic for the sport on a Saturday as it has a massive screen and the place is fairly quiet.
You will know when you're a local as Wolfy the dog will demand a walk as soon as you enter!
An all round pleasure to drink there.

The Water Poet, Shoreditch

Nice pub, great buzz and the food looked pretty good! However, the beer was bad and expensive, the guinness worse than bad. Staff are keen and sociable but not sure they were very adept at the friday post work/england rugby melee. Loads of potential but the beer needs work....oh yes, toilets are dreadful and spent most of the night blocked!

The Golden Heart, Shoreditch

I like the pub, good guinness!! Lots of moaning about Sandra, if you don't like it leave! Found her generally hungover but on good form. Dougie seems to keep a good pint. If you want the slug and lettuce then you know what to do, the wife and I like it!!!

The Toucan, Soho

you come here to drink guinness, nothing else.........worth every step.....expensive? maybe, who cares! Have you ever drank bad guinness? Of course you have.....in nearly every other pub!! If you don't like the decor/staff/toilets then drink somewhere else...more room for us!

Navy Inn, The Barbican

In reply to the aptly named "Dick"
Always found the Navy a warm, friendly and welcoming pub. The beer is good but maybe a little pricey, the food is bog standard pub grub, value for money and very enjoyable.
The staff are great, Landlord is ex army and it shows, but he is friendly, polite and very proud of the service he provides and the pub he runs. The Land lady is a dynamo, she is pleasent and funny, a fantastic hostess!
Very busy at the weekends and don't even bother bank holidays and Sunday nights unless you love noise and a crowd, other times its a great place to mix with locals, servicemen and tourists who all manage to have a drink side by side in a good atmosphere.
The pub was actually off tottenham court road dickhead!!
