The Wishing Well, Peckham

It's a pretty pub now and certainly very popular but I have to agree with WINKLER1. It is very strange that the sell their burger with chips as an extra. This bumps the price up quite significantly. It wasn't even very good, certainly not for the price. It also strikes me as being a bit, well, "sleight of hand".
MATTBOYMX, you don't have to delve deeper, you can better and cheaper if you go down to The Montpelier.
Anyway, it's certainly a positive addition to the area; these guys know how to run a decent pub and the staff have always been very friendly. It will do well, and so it should.
I like the idea that it also had B&B rooms, which look lovely on the website.

This is an amazing pub. Walk through the small public bar at the front and you find a room with a full on stage. How many pubs in London (in the UK?) do you find that? Really this should be a listed building.
The guys running it should be commended for bringing live music & entertainment back to a local pub. They're trying very hard and doing a great job.It has improved so much.
Superb comedy club last Friday of every month (Pull The Other One).
Get down & support this most unique venue.

This pub sadly went downhill with the previous owners. However, it's back now and better than ever. Friendly, busier, nice makeover, good beers, open more often. Well done indeed.
Now my local boozer. The daft ales are excellent.

I come back regularly now to this excellent local bar, with friends & on my own for a cheeky pint.
I usually have their most excellent burger (possibly the best I've had & they actually cook it medium rare if that's how you want it) but last time I had the roast belly of pork, which sits at the bottom of the menu. It should be at the top, it was fantastically good.
Forget the negative review about dogs. They always make mine most welcome, with bowls of water & sausage treats. The very pretty and attentive blond barmaid dotes on her, which I don't mind at all!
All in all a top pub with great food, top beers and friendly staff...still needs some art on the walls though.

We had a superb night here when the legendary DJ Derek was playing the back room. What a laugh! If he plays again, don't miss it.
The new owners are very friendly, the Guinness was nice & cold, the decor is odd to say the least with gold framed masters such as the Mona Lisa and the barman plays in a Kraftwerk tribute band.
Honestly, you couldn't make it up.
All sorts come & drink here. If they can keep a friendly atmosphere, introduce a good Thai cook (or just good pub grub that's not frozen & reheated) and keep up the great entertainment evenings it deserves to do well. Good luck.

Dropped in here for a quick drink on the way home from the Rye Hotel.

It is great to see a local, unpretentious pub like this appear in our area. Very positive.

Very friendly & welcoming staff. Subtle & cosy interior with generous banquettes.

The whole place just made us start chatting to people, mostly locals, it's just got that vibe. We made two new friends who live at the end of our street.

The football was on the big projector at the other end so there was no intrusion upon people who were dining or chatting at the front end.

Let us bring our dog in, nice.

If I have to raise a criticism, then the interior could do with one or two cool pieces of modern art or photography just to soften it a bit.

I wish this place all the luck & success for the future and I shall be returning very soon for more beers & to try what looks like a hearty food menu.

I really hope that it will develop into a top drinking/dining spot as it finds it's feet & clientele. Locals please support it!
