ok so if you want a traditional pub this isn't for you, but if you want a decent vodka or a well made martini give it a go. I went there a few weeks ago with friends who work in the area, you won't normally find me in islington, and i was definitely impressed with both the atmosphere and the service. A nice alternative to the rest of the upper street chain bars (the main reason why you won't normally find me in islington)

The St Johns Tavern, Archway
i love it in here, a really good wine selection, and the food is great, and they let us take in our own trivial pursuit
