Not as bad as ppl say.
Food and beer are both to normal JDW standards.

Bar one side caters for the younger generation (below 60) and has a pool table that you can never get on.
Lounge area is full of old ppl but its the best part of the pub. We always drank here in my early 20s. Loved it. Even did the quiz a bit.
Beers are good (as are almost all the pubs in this area).

The Nelson and Railway, Kimberley
Best pub in the world. My local when I was younger but still visit once a year or so when I can. Lovely crowd/staff.
Great beers. Haven't eaten there in years so dunno if thats any good.
Great quiz. If a little suited to the older generation.

Nice old man pub in a busy location. Sit back and watch ppl rushing about their busy lives whilst you sample the great range of ales.

The Northcote, Clapham Junction
poor service. Lots of plates of half eaten food and dead glasses left on the table for the whole time I visited recently (for a pint). Nice location though.

The Castle, Battersea
Nice day time summer pub due to big garden (for London).
Crap pub building (square box - think 70s council estate pub) but they've done wonders with it. Really nicely done.
Bar staff are lovely. Client�le are 99% awesome.
Not cheap mind.
