Gullivers Tavern, Kinson

John and Lisa were so good they lasted all of three months, nuff said. I think most of the proper, decent gullys regulars know who and what was the best thing to happen to gullys for ages. Happy New Year where ever you are.

Used to defend this pub from uninformed criticism never again. Two of the most miserable hosts I've ever known, change from the idiots who had it last i suppose. Won't be using this place again as i can't bear to see a once decent boozer deteriorate as we get one new manager after another. The couple who were here for nearly a decade,Paul and Clare, bought stability and happiness to a troubled pub. Wherever they are now I'm envious of their locals as they won't have to put up with their favourite boozer being destroyed by bad management. See you all in the Royal Oak

What have these lunatics done to my local? It's like stepping back ten years. Bring back the old landlord and his missus, now there was a couple who could run a boozer.

Well said aledrinker99. We share the same sentiments,if not the same humour. Truth is I have never been in the Parkstone and, probalby, never will.I don't like pubs that have the same ethos and character of a McDonalds. My local is real,I was just up to Puck-like mischief. Enjoy you're local and keep it open, happy travels to all at the Talbot.

Now,now aledrinker99 don't spill your pint. There is nothing wrong with a little levity. This is what I really think, if you love your local use it, keep it open because once it's gone it's gone. Bear this in mind when your being detrimental to other struggling pubs, cheers see you in the parkstone!

Talk about "bigging up" a pub, are all these reviewers on free beer? Oh well, Wetherspoons opens soon and the Talbot will be no more.

Re:previous subscriber I think the clue is in his non-de-plume. He seems to have a real downer on Bournemouth pubs, so take heart Richmond Arms you are in good company. Unless your pub has the aroma of "hoppy" farts and middle-class pretension he will never give you a favourable review, apart from that I'm sure he's a lovely chap

Shame it will be social housing when the Wetherspoons opens in March. That'll test your loyalty aledrinker99, unless your the landlord of course.

Not another "food" pub with all the character of a "Burger King"? Oh well "parting is such sweet sorrow".

Shame it's closed down then.

The Royal Oak, Kinson

As a casual observer of this site i have to ask why if anyone slags off the oak, Gullivers tavern is mentioned in a derogatory manner? Far from being a hovel it has improved consistently. Both pubs are needed in the locale, so DR47 why not try saving your pub?
