The Eva Hart, Chadwell Heath

Called in recently on a saturday afternoon. Served promptly and first pint topped up without asking, not that measure was particularly short to start with. Food arrived promptly and hot. Oakham Brewery promotion on at the time with beers at �1.85, all three sampled were in very good condition. Pleasant enough atmosphere although character of pub may change later in the evening but where doesn't on Friday and Saturday evenings. Would certainly call in again.

Old Town Hall Vaults, Whitchurch

Visited twice last week. Beers in very good condition, 3 regulars, 3-4 guests. Sampled Sharps, Backyard Brewery, Moorhouses, Woodlands and Blue Monkey. Good food, well prepared basic dishes. Would definitely visit again. Just be aware closes between 2-30 and 6pm, rather like Whitchurch.

The Swan at Marbury, Marbury

Called in here last Sunday lunchtime, July 4th, while on canal boat holiday. Was told pub closing that evening. Still had very good Sunday roast although place was rather like the Marie Celeste as apart from pleasant barmaid, we were the only people there. Most fittings etc had been removed so was very barren. Decent pint of Salopian Gold though. Heard in Wrenbury that an unspecified person/company may be looking at taking it over.
