The Weir Hotel, Walton on Thames
Popped in on sunday and waited 50mins for a roast not to turn up (crap excuses as ever)!!! after seeing the cold badly portioned meals turning up on the next table, i think we were lucky.....
the beer was over priced and the staff are still stupid.
there are to many good pubs further up or down the river, why bother with the weir!!!
we will never go there again

Much of a much pub. if another chain like yates get this pub, the only difference will be higher prices behind the jump!
If it's convient for me i'll pop back in.

pint sized owner(dave) runs the New Town pub, not the New Inn!!!!!
Nice friendly little pub. Big on darts if you're into that, if not big on beer & having a laugh.
good atmosphere + friendly staff

As a local man its been hard to avoid this pub. Went in with some family after a month away & i'm sad to say nothing has changed! The place is run by idiots, I even feel sorry for the staff.
We sat down & ordered, 15 minutes later were told we had to change our order. Ok I thought, ordered something else. Nearly 20 mins later out came the obviously microwaved offering, steaming hot on the outside with cold bits in the middle!!!
I wish the breweries wouldn't sell leases to wonnabee landlords. It takes more than money to buy experience.
Appalling service in every way possible. A real shame, was a proper river pub a few years ago.....Never again

Good river pub overall. has a few small problems but it would be picky of me to go into them, as being on the river there can be alot of new & varied punters at any time during the weekend & this pub usually copes well under pressure. Foods better than average
+ friendly staff on the whole

If your a brainless chav content to stare at tour topend mobile phone, in ya ill fitting fake designer clobber, slurrpping sweet alcopops & causing mindless trouble then come here!
Why do you never see a chav chatting up a bird or causing trouble on there own? Because unless there's 5 or 10 of them, they've got no bollox. pathetic little clones

nice pub, good atmosphere & a great view across richmond green. be prepared to wait a while to be served at the weekend. usually well worth it though

not a bad pub for food service etc. even when very busy you can get food or beer in an acceptable time.
late friday or saturday nights can be a bit young & rough
crown wise but no trouble in my experience.
well worth a try

very friendly little boozer.
no food as such.
with old school attitudes which are hard to find in an era of cloned pub chain blandness.

with so many pubs in the area, it's quite shocking how little effort is made to be friendly to new customers.
the locals look down their noses at you, as does the owner. Oh well, their loss....
foods not that great either

this used to be a really nice pub. i'm sad to say its been taken over by an american & americanised!
poor food & long waiting times are now the norm, with last minute menu changes to suite the chef. walk a little further up the tow path & discover a world of nice sevice, hot food & real old friendly values.
