It's the Roundhead - not the Roundhouse! Not been in, the outside puts me off!

The Tavistock Inn, Tavistock

This pub is now under new management, since the last comments, present landlord said he had been there about a year. Beer (Doombar) was good and the food was good though not outstanding, the menu seems to be rather Wetherspoons inspired.
The landlord needs to improve his customer service skills, especially when it comes to table waiting.

The Flying Boat, Dartford

Went here on Friday (14/12/12) for food with my wife. I was served within seconds of reaching the bar, after ordering I was told the food would be about 15mins and it arrived dead on 15 mins later. Quality of the food was average. My scampi was fine and my wife's chicken tikka was ok although it was accompanied by hard rice and cardboard nan bread My pint of Spitfire was very reasonable but not outstanding.
It is a fascinating building (the former carriage, and later car, showroom of JC Beadle - built in 1910) but could now do with a little TLC, there are many bulbs blown and the suspended circular glass light fittings could all do with having their glass cleaned.

Gone completely! Demolished!

The Two Brewers, Dartford

Seems to have changed hands again - it is currently displaying the old legend - "under new management"! The staff are all wearing shirts saying "Wishing Well Inns", so presumably that is a chain tha has bought it. Can't say I have ever heard of them.
Still looks rather tired, the only cask ale available was "Old Speckled Hen" which was served much warmer than it should have been and was a little lifeless. The pub was fairly quiet and was all reasonably pleasant until someone turned the volume of the music up to a ridiculous level - good job I was on my own as conversation would have been impossible!! There are signs everywhere saying "We have a zero tollerance (sic) towards drugs. Anybody found will be prosecuted" - so dont be " found" in the Two Brewers!!

The Bull, Otford

Nice pub, good beer and excellent food but appallingly bad service! Everytime I have eaten here I have had to chase up where my food was! Tonight the first course arrived in reasonable time but the member of staff who brought it out (we were in the garden) ambled out with an "I-don't-really-want-to-do-this" attitude and toured the whole garden before he found us! We had already ordered dessert but half an hour after finishing the first course I had to go and chase it up! The same person ambled out with scalding hot crumble - fresh from the microwave - ignored the dirty crockery from our main course and ambled back to the pub empty-handed. He did this every time he brought some food out and by the time we left, several tables were loaded with dirty glasses and crocks all being ignored and the family on the next table were just about to chase up their food!
aaac - it's not just at busy times you have to wait a little - I've had to wait a lot every time I've been there - and I've not been there at busy times!! Certainly wasn't busy tonight!

The Birchwood, Swanley

Now closed - and looks suspiciously like it stands in the way of road improvements!

Hollyhead Inn, Bridgnorth

Returned to its old name "The George". Beer's good but more like a hotel bar than a pub.

The White Horse, Sundridge

An excellent pub with very pleasant staff. Superb food - a little expensive but, then quality doesn't come cheap! Only spoiler was the noise of the traffic in the garden as it's right beside the road, but I suppose there's not much can be done about that.

The Royal Oak, Orpington

Last came to this pub over 25 years ago, when it was a Harvester, Beefeater or something like that - Vintage Inns now.
We ordered a mixed grill between us as usually pub mixed grills are too big for one each - but not this one! For nearly 15 I expected a biggun! but to be fair, what it lacked in quantity it made up for in quality. Excellent food beautifully cooked.
Beer was good too, Sharp's "Doom Bar" - very well kept.

The Rose and Crown, Orpington

We wanted feeding - only bar snacks available from a very vague menu. Didn't stay - went across the road to the Royal Oak.
