The Blue Anchor, Staines

"If you'd used your own ID you could have proved/disproved that theory; personally I suspect you posted the whole lot but hey that's you're problem...I'll just sit back and laugh."

So wheres your id?

Mines staines 789....mean anything to anyone?

I'm gonna sum it up in a oner or else it's gonna get boring, you have the people who inhabited the toad every friday and saturday for the last few years and they will love the blue anchor!

Then there's people, who I am inclined to agree with think that it is full of chavs and people so up their own I'm suprised they actually manage to make it through the door.

FACT: This pub is full of attitude now, but thats down to some of the customers. If you want to avoid that then go to nice places like haha's or baroosh where you actually get an apology if someone bumps into you rather than a dirty look. I'm not saying everyone who goes there is like that, but the ones that aren't will know what I mean, the rest will probably try and argue with me over it.

Anyway, like it's been said a hundreed times before, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, I don't like the blue anchor anymore end of. Thats my opinion so don't bother trying to disprove it cos until something happens to change it it'll stay that way.

I'm sorry but for dave526's benefit I'd like to define a chav for him. A chav is someone usually under 20 (they tend to grow out of it) and dressed in burberry or some other raggy shirt. They wear lots of gold and wear caps whenever they can. Extreme cases tuck their tracksuit bottoms in their socks. They cannot string together a sentence particularly well without abbreviating words that don't need it.....wake up dave you're a chav!
Anyway the toad is a perfect venue for you mate, I used to love it when i was 17/18.
For the record I'm not posh, just not chav!

Well why is it that it's only people that don't like the toad that get a grilling? I've stated many reasons why I don't like the pub and my opinion shouldn't be discounted because I don't agree with people who do like the pub.
There's no right or wrong with opinions and everyone has a different one which is liable to result in said discussion and debate, which is what's going on apart from the odd condescending idiot who wants to burst on here and tell people not to say what they think if it's not in favour of the toad. I'll say again, don't like the clientele of the toad and it's always the same people in here every time I've been here. Don't go there if you're over 20 and looking for a good night out. If you are restricted to Staines try haha's and baroosh....much nicer!

I'd be happy to mind my own business on the rare occasion i go to the toad, trouble is you brush past someone for instance and they give you daggers, plastics think they're rock hard cos there's a big group of them, they're nothing without their mates, nothing with them in my opinion, which is something i'm entitled to, so I don't actually know the point in people coming on here to say "some like it, some don't, grow up" and so on, if you don't have opinions of you're own then thats pretty sad in itself, I don't like the toad and I have the right to say so, thought that was the point of websites like this, as it states "comments are the opinions of site visitors so don't take them too seriously". Case closed.

Champs Bar, Feltham

On entering I briefly mistook it for the young offenders institute, but the entertainment is probably far superior and a greater amount of funding probably goes into it there

Not if it's over 21's they won't, I'm not posting anonymously, not that my user name will mean anything to anyone. Granted haha's cocco's and baroosh are all chav free, but if you can afford those prices it's worth getting out of staines so there's an option to go on somewhere afterwards. I noticed the person who asked "where the hell do you people get off insulting people who actually like the toad" kept it anonymous......WISE CHOICE! And MrG you've been very lucky to only see one fight, having worked in staines briefly for a few months a while back there was more than one fight a night! I hate the way that everyone hangs around in the high street waitingfor a fught when the pubs kick out, it really is sad and epitomises the kind of place staines has become.

I'll put my name to my comments, I posted on the 15 feb and stand by what I said. The problem with the Toad isn't the venue, it's the clientele, can anyone else remeber te days when you went out in staines without being subjected to one group of chavs declaring war on another group of chavs. I think you'd find kebab elite is by far the busiest venue in Staines! I think the Toad should stay open for as long as possible, solely for the fact that it would prevent the chavs from invading other venues! I wouldn't spend a night in cheekees but having gone there for a one off night in staines a little time ago I will say well done to the bouncers for keeping out chav scum! The atmosphere downstairs in cheekees is so much more relaxed than that of the toad or the blue, you can actually have someone apologise for bumping into you rather than try and take your eyes out!
It's still Staines though and staines is a dive at night, there is a world beyond the borders of staines you lot and maybe you should venture out once in a while!
