The Black Lion, Hammersmith

Quite liked this place. Myself and the wife went down here the other night and had a bite to eat. Nice (if very expensive) food and a really nice glass of wine. Not a place I would return to regularly purely as I couldnt afford to

The Cross Keys, Hammersmith

What a cracking little pub! Nearly walked passed it the other day on the way to the river. So very glad we didn't. Not a massive beer selection (2 Ales on) but the friendly chap at the bar recommended I try Summer Ale which was lovely. My friend didnt fancy anything on draught so the barman suggested one of the bottle ales instead. He ended up going for a Pastmasters XX apparently its a beer that you wont see everywhere, made to a recipe from the 1800s. The taste I had was again, lovely, really hoppy with bags of flavour! (Over 7% though so not a beer I could have a lot of)

Spent a very relaxed few hours in the garden then played a couple of games of darts. Not a bad night at all.

The Victoria, Highgate

Was in here last Wednesday to catch up with a few friends and have some food. Absolutly loved the place. The food was fantastic (I had the Whitebait to start and Porkbelly main) I can see why it had been voted Gastro pub of the year. The bar was really busy, due partly to the Jazz band (I counted 8 players at one point, as well as a sing'a'long by 'pork pie' from desmond's) and the music was brilliant. Keep it up guys!

The Duke of Kent, Ealing

I was in the Duke of Kent again on Sunday, The place was absolutely heaving!
Myself and the wife decided to enjoy a bit of the sun in the beer garden and loved it! Had a nice couple of pints and some food from the BBQ, and while the food took a while to get to us. the waitress was very apologetic and we could see they were busy so problem for me.

The Duke of Kent, Ealing

Went into the Duke the other day expecting to have an awful experience (based on the horrendous reviews this place has) and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised. We were greeted at the bar by a very friendly barmaid, who recommended the Jack Frost for me, which I got happily, tipsy on, and wine for my wife.

The pub looked fantastic inside and dispite being quite busy we found a place to sit quite easily. Didn't eat here but what we saw come out to the table behind us looked and smelt pretty good.

Will be back
