The Prince of Wales, Caversham

Ths is a fine local pub. The staff are friendly and there is a lovely 'roof top' beer garden!

Crown Inn, Playhatch

This pub is absolutely fabulous! Some friends and I had Sunday lunch here yesterday. The food was the best I have ever had in a pub. The service was fantastic - just attentive enough without being overbearing.

Heartily recommended.

The Alehouse, Reading

This is a great pub, but only a quiet times. It is not the right kind of layout for a busy pub.

The Chequers, Oxford

Excellent value for money. Why does the floor vibrate though? Very odd.

Baron Cadogan, Caversham

I completely disagree with the previous contributer about the beer. It is some of teh best in town, and also the best value. The food is very good value. It is obviously a chain pub, but it is a pleasabnt enough place for a drink of an evening.

The Griffin, Caversham

A bit characterless inside. It has a nice beer yard though.

The Clifton Arms, Caversham

Very friendsly pub. A little smokey, but this venue will definitly be on my list once the smoking ban comes into effect.

Island, Caversham

This is a great bar. In the summer it is fabulous to sit outside on the terrace and enjoy a nice cold drink. The staff are friendly and attentive. They remember you when you go back which is very pleasant in this day and age!

The bar would benefit from a log fire for the winterv as it can be a little minimalist and sterile. Heartily recommended though!

The Raven, Bath

This is a fantastic pub. It has an extensive none smoking area. The beer is great and is well kept by people who care about the product that they aer selling. Pubs like this are such a breath of fresh air! I would make an extensive detour to visit this pub. Excellent. Simply excellent!

Hole in the Wall, Bristol

My wife and I ate here yesterday. The pub was fairly busy, but they managed to burn our food twice. By this I don't mean a pedantic 'little bit over done', but a 5mm black crust on a burger! We were left thoroughly depressed afterwards particularkly considering that it took them over an hour and a half to bring us even partially edible food. We were not impressed and shall not be visiting again next time we are in the Bristol area.

The Sun Inn, Barnes

I used to be a regular in this pub. My wife and I used to go in with our friends most Fridays for an 80 group spend. I am never going to go here again. The staff are incredibly rude - they have obvuiously been learning from 'The Bulls Head'. I had a meal here last Saturday which featured burnt potato wedges the colour of charcoal. I complained and the chef came over. He snapped one of the wedges in half to show me that it was white on the inside.... I congratulated him on not having completely creametd them! Eventually I got a new portion. The chef stood and gave me a evil looks for the duration of meal... nice. The manager came over during my meal to point out that the first portion that I had been given were perfectly OK - 'that was the way they always cook them'.

Avoid this place like plague until the owners sort out the management propoerly.

The Alehouse, Reading

A great pub. Great beer. Unique layout. Friendly Staff. The gents toilets are the worst that I have ever encountered in this country though!

The Chippenham, Maida Hill

Lat time I was in The Chip there was a fight between 2 rival groups of resident builders about football teams. It involved about 10 gentlemen and was only split up by the arrival of 10 police officers.

On the plus side they show complete disregard for the licencing laws regularly staying open until well past midnight.

The Captain Cook, Putney

Food is great. Not a good place for football as the layout is all wrong. Great rear garden.

The Fox, Putney

Good place to watch football. The bar staff need to be more friendly, or failing that, not rude would be nice...

Ye White Hart, Barnes

A nice place to sit by the river. Inside is nothing special. The beer is overpriced.

The Sun Inn, Barnes

Great pub especially for the large beer garden in the summer! The standard of the food can be variable and so I try to avoid it on the whole. The prices are very resonable though.

The Bull's Head, Barnes

I only visit this pub as it is one of only 2 which show the football in Barnes. I am always made to feel very awkward by the rude and unpleasant staff. The prices are insane as well.
