The Tyne, Newcastle

great ale, well looked after, decent choice of ale, great service, excellent location, friendly atmosphere, brilliant music venue, nice staff, relaxing chilled out atmosphere, combines well with the free trade on a warm summer evening

The Free Trade Inn, Byker

great place, ambience, atmosphere, decor, view!!, people, and outside seating, but beer could be better kept, great start to an ouseburn valley ale crawl though

The Newcastle Arms, Newcastle

choice, quality, and variation of ale outstanding, staff amongst the most knowledgable and appreciative of real ale that i have encountered. atmosphere, ambience and decor not quite as welcoming as the nearby bodega (despite similar nicely old fashioned styles), nor do they have big lamp prince bishop as a regular. Nevertheless, coupled with a visit to the bodega makes my favourite and weekly ale crawl

The Bodega, Newcastle

This pub is one of the best pubs i ve had the pleasure of visiting and i now do so on a weekly basis, the pre-match atmosphere is unrivalled as for my money is the quality of the beer. Besides the ever-present and ever-outstanding Big Lamp Prince Bishop (a nicer beer i have yet to have!) there are always without fail a minumum of 3/4 guest ales from all corner of Britain. The staff are experts at pulling the perfect cask ale and are always smiling, if i was to have one more pint in my life it would be a prince bishop in this pub!
