The Old Inn, Clevedon

Decided to give this GBG 2009 pub a try whilst in the area yesterday. And very glad we did. Courage Best, Otter Head and MacOtter on offer - had the latter, a well-kept and rather enjoyable 5% - wished we could have stayed for longer and taken up the landladys offer of the recently refurbished B&B! 8/10

The Jolly Sailor, Saltford

A brief visit, made all the more brief due to the lack of local Bristol ales as advertised on the board outside. Theakstons Old Peculiar apparently the most local. Place seems nice enough and was very busy on the Sunday afternoon we popped in. Might be tempted to give it another go when in the area.

The Cross Keys, Yate

Popped in here Friday evening having taken a wrong turn somewhere in Yate and very glad we did! Great find, proper pub with 2 bars, had a half of Theakstons Black Bull Bitter which was fairly enjoyable. Pleasant bar staff, chatty landlord, will get lost again very soon I think.

The Black Swan, Martyr's Green

IS a great pub if you're after a real fire, excellent choice in ales, no-frills grub, large childrens play area and a place to run the dog - can't think of a better place for a Sunday afternoon!
The landlord knows his stuff when it comes to ales and is keen to get in unusal and scrummy guest ales to suit all tastes, as often as possible.
