Buck Inn, Buckden

Great stop if your on the Dalesway walk, Friendly helpful landlord serving a good range of ales. TV in second bar but does not bother you in the rest of the house.

The Blue Bell Inn, Kettlewell

Smashing pub full of character and good beer. Ideally placed on the Dalesway Long Distance Path

The Royal Coach, Shoreham by Sea

Boarded up and stands awaiting what is not certain, but looks unlikely ever to open again.

Churchills Bar, Blackpool

visited when I was at a festival in the Winter Gardens full of characters and what seems 24 hour Kareoke. Friendly and mixed crowd well worth a visit.

The Queens Head, Rye

Really great welcome and a good selection of Ales some on stillages on the bar. Cold pub as it was empty this made it seem worse. They need to tidy up a bit to make this a good pub, there were hoovers and piles of mail and empty boxes piled up in the lobby whilst the loo had broken window panes. A good clean up and this would be a great pub, we visited on an afternoon it looks like it might be more active in the evening.

The Pipemarkers Arms, Rye

Very empty when we visited on a late Friday afternoon. Limited range of Greene King and speckled Hen but in very good nick. Not a bad pub with friendly bar maid. Good for bus spotting through the window.

The Ypres Castle Inn, Rye

A really cosy pub on a wet cold afternoon with open fire and beer in good order. Have to say this is mainly an eating pub and the landlord seemed to be disapointed when told we had just come for a beer.

The Salamander, Bath

A nice little boozer sitauted in a side street away from the shops, Quite an upmarket hooray henry crowd in post when I was there as well as the odd American tourist. Bath ales Gem in superb condition, a clean and tidy pub.

The Falcon, Painswick

A strange pub with different sections, one which looked like a tea room. Butcombe was in good nick but the veggie options for food were limited

The Wheatsheaf, Worthing

Rip off place, a small orange and lemonade 3.00. several people questioning the prices they were charged when we were there.
Indifferent staff in what could be a nicer pub.

The Red Lion Inn, Shoreham by Sea

A truly great looking pub but what has happened since my last visit?
Service was poor no Adur beers on tap and what beers were on were not in great shape. Only seemed to be one menu to go round the whole pub. The food was reasonable when it came if somewhat overpriced. I have never minded before because the service and surrounds were of a high class.
Not the pub it used to be.

The Plumbers Arms, Chester

Saw this pub from the shopping arcades it had a traditional frontage but is a modern interior . Good Thwaites beers and reasonable food but not much for veggies. Spoilt by the two big TV screens which over power the bar, they might be great when a big sports event is on but not during the day.

The Poets Corner, Hove

This pub will open as "The Poets Corner" on 5th March.
Harveys have given it a complete refit (which it needed) and a new kitchen. I'm sure this pub will go from strength to strength under new landlord Graham, who runs the superb Lord Nelson in Brighton.
Folk club is open on that night we have Reg Meuross a fine singer songwriter.

The Evening Star, Brighton

A terrific pub if you like traditional pubs. The beer is superb and I find the people who drink there to be most friendly. I could quite happily spend the night there and often do.

The Woodman Arms, Hammerpot

More a restaurant than a pub but the London Pride was good. The food is good too a range of different meals and really helpful waitresses. But not a country pub at all.
