Zero Degrees, Bristol

Although I tend to prefer more trad places I think they have done a very good and interesting job on this.

Nice location tucked in at the top of christmas steps.

A good addition to the bristol scene - good to see different places open up.

The Scotchman and His Pack, Bristol

ok straightforward pub but nothing special

The White Bear, Bristol

VERY studenty. But a nice relaxed pub.

The Highbury Vaults, Bristol

Great pub. Never changes very much even after Smiles sold it. Nice walled garden. Food v. cheap.

The Cotham Porter Stores, Cotham

Real old fashioned cider house. Great atmosphere. No concessions to the 21st century. Quite rough & ready considering the affluence of Cotham.

The Artichoke, Bristol

anonymous city centre pub

The King Charles, Bristol

One of the friendliest places in Bristol

28 Dec 2006 17:51

The Pipe and Slippers, Montpelier

They sell Pieminister pies.

The Hare On The Hill, Bristol

If you can find it, this is a great cosy little backstreet pub.

28 Dec 2006 17:45

The Croft, Stokes Croft

Busy alternative pub. Not so rough as it used to be. Opens late. Excellent room at the back for live bands.

The Star and Garter, Montpelier

Not as good as good as it used to be when its illegal lock-ins were legenday and DJ Derek did its stuff.

Was once my favourite pub ever - best at about 1a.m. when they cleared the tables out the back room.

Still very atmospheric and very friendly multi-racial pub especially late on.

The Cadbury House, Montpelier

Can be very friendly if you dont mind listening to the incoherent ramblings of a stoned student.

Still one of the best 'alternative' pubs in Bristol although the jukey is not as good as it used to be - and all the old games have gone - shame.

The Old England, Montpelier

Used to be the ultimate crusty pub and be absolutely heaving. Notoriously difficult to manage - much drug dealing in the past.

Last couple of times I have been its been eerily quiet. Really lost it a bit. Though it wouldnt take much to make it popular again.

One of the best and biggest beer terraces in Bristol.

one30, Stokes Croft

Nicely done up with some very crumbly original brick pillars in a property that was empty for a long time.

Good food. Service can be a bit slow. Sometimes lots of kids running about in the daytime.

Definite boon to this bit of Cheltenham Road which is
still a bit run-down.

The Magic Box, Bristol

This pub suddenly closed in about October 06. Probably related to the crackheads reported by other reviewers
