The Library, Islington

Cracking bar, up there with the KL - massive improvement on Lush. Great DJ's too.

The Matt and Matt Bar, Islington

3 of us went here for a mates b'day. They were a group of girls. But the bouncers wouldn't let us in as we weren't with girls (despite them being inside). Made the error of employing a rational, common sense argument with the bouncer and got thrown out of the queue.
Got in later by pretending to be with some girls we met in the queue to find terrible euro-house and bar prices that would cost a mouse 100 to get drunk.

In it's favour there were some fantastic looking women in here, so I will award 2 points for that.

The Keston Lodge, Islington

Awesome music, good decor and crowd - all in all a cracking bar. Gets far too busy, but I guess that's the price of getting a pub so right.

The Social, Fitzrovia

The best bar in the west end by a million miles. Great music and not too many "mee-ja" types.

The Walkabout, Angel, Islington

Hell on earth.

Chapter One, Finsbury Park

I dont know why, but I love this place and always have. The occassional crap DJ's and Eastern European bar staff just seem to make it funnier.
It's not quite as fun as the old days when we'd go for a "quick pint before closing" on a Thurs eve and end up staggering home about 4am (fascist govt put a stop to everything), but still a good laugh. Esp good for staggering into off the last tube back from town.

White Lion Of Mortimer, Finsbury Park

SaintJohnny is bang on the mark here. I would just add that there is a hospital smell of death about the place. I'm sure some of the regulars have actually been dead for years.

The Stapleton Tavern, Finsbury Park

Three words: All Bar One.
If you like them you'll love this place. Not for me.

The Faltering Fullback, Finsbury Park

Since the demise of the Dairy, The Fullback is unchallenged for the title of best pub in the FP.
Good beer, friendly barstaff (my mates are in love with one of them which is always a good sign), pool, jukebox, Irish bands on Sunday eve's - this place rules.
And Phoenix Nights style Thai Kitchen too - who can argue with that!

The Old Dairy, Finsbury Park

The Dairy has tons of potential and used to be the best pub in the FP by a distance - had many a great night here.

Sadly these days it takes approximately 14 years to get served (even on a quiet night) at which point you are confronted by the most moody and miserable bar staff I have ever had the misfortune to endure. I cant be the only one to notice this as what used to be packed pub with a great atmosphere and eclectic mix of people is now (even on a Friday) an empty shell.

I was really hoping for the good times to come back but after the last visit where the barstaff were more obnoxious than ever (quite an achievement) I vowed never to go back - I still haven't and don't plan to.

Please someone sort this place out and make it good again - employing some staff who know how to smile and speak to people would be a great start.

The Westbourne, Westbourne Green

I forgot to add that everyone thinks they are so very trendy. One bloke was wearing a bright red sun visor.
I rest my case.

The Westbourne, Westbourne Green

A pub full of Nathan Barley's in the West? Who'd have thought. This bar is so bad that we left to get back to Islington after one beer. In fact it's so bad that I have signed up on here to warn people off.
Shoreditch tw@t for wannabe Sloaney's.
Avoid avoid avoid. Unless your name is Arabella or Tarquin.
One point awarded for selling Warsteiner though.
