Pant Yr Ochain, Gresford

Nice setting, looks very much like a stately library. The food was ok but not superb, the girl didnt know what was on the dish. My meal came with huge chunks of blue cheese, nice flavour combinations but totally overpowered the rest of the meal. My partners portion was that much they couldnt finish it which doesnt impress. Beer was as you would expect, very good. Service fine and friendly. More quality, less quantity, then you might have just nailed it!

The Star Inn, Llangollen

Girl seemed nice enough behind the bar, Felt for the landlord here, average age was about 19. He had to have 3 heavys on the door due to the councils restrictions. Alright if your into fosters and alcopops. They did have an ale on, we didn' t stay though, not an outsiders pub. Despite the band being ok, nobody was really listening, shame.

Corn Mill, Llangollen

Not many good places to eat in Llangollen, the corn mill very much the tourists eatery. Good beer but expensive for the area. The food was ok, but again expensive for what it was. we did have to wait about 30 mins to order, then the food took even longer to arrive. The setting went some way to up for it, outstanding views across the river to the bridge, little steam trains travelled along the track. Marvellous building. Pleasant staff, though the menu is fixed, no substitutions.

The Sun Inn, Llangollen

Outstanding in every sense, there really is something for everyone. Attention right down to the very last detail. Couldn't believe it when I was told the pub has been totally revamped over many years by the current landlord. He was putting some shelves up when I visited. It looks entirely traditional apart from the loos which have to be mentioned as they are superb, automatic lights and flush and a hand dryer that dries your hands! delightful trad wooden bar, slate floors, stained glass, fire places, beams. continental beers including fruit beers, lots of lagers, 6 bitters, large selection of whisky and rums. Chicken curry, top notch. Wife raved about the fresh orange. Games, traditional and modern, live music, Cargo, very good rock band, great beer garden with covered area and heaters with a TV outside. Was really quite peaceful there in the day time, no surprise it got busy in the evening, nice to see all ages in there, great atmosphere. Highly recommended!

The Prince of Wales, LLangollen

Visited this pub for the first time last year. Nobody in. Not a bad pub a fairly modernised. Tried a half of ale, was like pea soup, the lad didnt know. Seemed I had to pay for it anyway, had jamesons in the end. No loo paper! Fire was nice though.

The Slug and Lettuce, Lincoln

I was waiting for a train so I called in for a quick pint and grub as it's on the main street. I wouldnt recomend it, the food was expensive and by the time it arrived I had to rush it... No thanks
