The Barley Mow, Winchfield

Unfortunately this pub is currently closed and boarded up, which is a pity because it was very good. Hopefully someone will take it over soon becasue it's next to a popular Basingstoke Canal Car Park and access point (and one of my favourite walks!)

De Havilland Arms, Elvetham Heath

Despite its slightly artificial "Olde Worldeliness", this is a well run pub with excellent food and friendly, helpful staff. We had our office Christmas "do" there and it was the best organised group meal I've ever been to, and the best quality food too - cooked fresh and served hot by some of the most patient and accomodating staff I have ever encountered in a pub.

I can live with plastic beams and IT chat for that!

The Bell, Odiham

Friendly and cosy pub in the centre of Odiham, opposite the village stocks .. so best behave!

Two course Sunday lunch is a bargain. Well kept ales and homely atmosphere.

The Anchor, North Warnborough

Small friendly local pub with good home made food. Menu includes good range of sandwiches and baguettes plus hot dishes - traditional roast on Sundays is good value. Dogs by arrangement with landlord (his own dog isn't very hospitable to other dogs apparently). Pub has traditional skittle alley in barn adjacent to the pub, max capacity 40.

I note a previous reviewer says no real ales, but there were three on my last visit (01/01/07) (Courage Best, Adnams Bitter and Ringwood Bitter)
