The Falstaff, Derby

I can't add much to what's already be said albeit previous comments were made a year or more ago. Nothing's changed (although I didn't have a problem finding it)! Went in for a pint and ended up trying all four excellent Falstaff beers on offer at the time. Well worth a visit or two.

The Tally Ho, North Finchley

No shortage of staff but they can't quite decide whether to serve the customers or chat between themselves. The latter seems to be the norm, this time apparently about whether someone had gone home eight minutes early. If only they were to discuss the benefits to the customer of pulling a full pint!

The Cricketers, Croydon

First time visit. A great pint and well worth going a bit out of your way. I'll be back!

The Claret Free House, Addiscombe

Good beer - quick service in a packed pub. This'll do me.

The Dulwich Woodhouse, Sydenham

Whatever the politics of Youngs and Wells, the pub is a place you can visit and have a decent pint of beer and watch the 363 bus go by. If it was up to me we'd all be drinking Phoenix's Wobbly Bob but let's get real - a good pub with good beer.

The Gowlett Arms, Peckham

A decent pub in an area where I wouldn't necessarily expect a decent pub (but that's probably me). The beer was good and topped up without me asking.

The Charles Dickens, Southwark

Beer seemed okay to me but I'm no expert. Some of the surrounding pubs are decidely bad so this one stands out - I'm not exactly sure what people expect.

The Mad Hatter Hotel, Southwark

Dull. With or without Marc (whoever he is).

The Coronet, Holloway

A typical JDW with the usual fault (taking ages to clear empty glasses/plates and then failing to mop up the spilt beer etc) and the usual plus, a pint for less than 2. In this case a pretty good Top Dog from Spinning Dog. I didn't think the pub was as bad as the average rating of 4.9 seems to indicate but I've only been there once.

The Richmal Crompton, Bromley

Didn't like this place but I am over 15.

The Abbaye, Bromley

I like Leffe Blond but at 4.75 a pint this place is, as others have said, a bit pricey.

The Red Lion, Bromley

An excellent pint (or three) of Greene King Ale Fresco. Friendly staff and very good value food. It's always worth seeking out when visiting the area.

The Museum Tavern, Bloomsbury

A decent pint of St Austell Tribute from a fair selection of real ales. Plenty of staff, good service with empty glasses not allowed to clutter the tables.

The White Hart, Crystal Palace

An interesting place. How can three people behind the bar take ten minutes to get around to serving three people on my side of the bar? Busy doing nothing?

The Angel, Soho

A year or so since I've been here but attracted back by the OBB on handpump which has become a bit of a rarity. Seems very drab inside but not helped by the dreadful weather outside.

The Pillars of Hercules, Soho

The beer quality is erratic to say the least. This week the Deuchars was just about drinkable but it was a close call.

The Nags Head, Belgravia

Gradually becoming one of my less favourite pubs due mainly to a pint of Adnams having reached 3.50. The pub itself is great but.......

Akkurat Restaurant and Bar, Stockholm

An amazing range of beer on tap and in bottles plus two cask ales from the Cotleigh Brewery. Busy with a steady stream of locals eating their lunch but no problem in us getting a beer. Staff really helpful, offering beer tasters in the quieter moments. Even busier with both foodies and drinkers in the evening. Well worth a visit. (Visited Tuesday lunch and Wednesday evening).

The Weatherbury, Weymouth

Tried two of the four real ales available and I wasn't disappointed with the quality. Well worth the walk - it's about ten minutes or so from the station.

The Tartar Frigate, Broadstairs

We must have picked the wrong day judged by other reviews. Decidedly short measures of bland beer served up by a charmless barmaid. Came to have a few pints but left after one. Better luck next time perhaps.
