The Cuckfield, Wanstead

Service still swings from good to bad like a rusty gate. Enjoyable Tuesday Quiz night, lack of trouble and good attitude towards families at weekends being plus points though

O'Neills, Leytonstone

A vast improvement in the bar part recently. Good Karaoke on Thursdays and very reasonable food from only 2.99, they now show all major sports including ppv boxing

The North Pole, Canary Wharf

Nice place with friendly staff and good old fashioned pub grub. Pool Table upstairs an added bonus

The Cat And Canary, Canary Wharf

Not bad for The Wharf. The beers are good (especially the Pride) and staff are friendly but I've eaten there twice and the food didn't impress, it's a good place to watch sports and enjoy the sun. A word of warning to people outside - don't use the fire exit to get in to the pub as you might end up with a dart in the head / leg depending on who's playing.

The Nags Head, Walthamstow

They're in the art business now - 250 for a print of a Cat! I used to enjoy drinking in "The Villarge" area during the early 90's, now it's full of pretentious people who read Nick Hornby books but unfortunately couldn't afford to live on Upper Street so they descended on this area. They spend their time in this crazy pub moaning about negative equity and how much homework they have to mark wearing their "Viva Walthamstow" t-shirts.......

College Arms, Walthamstow

The College is a welcoming family run pub. Get down on Sundays for the bargain home made Roasts, they also show live Premiership games on Saturdays.

The Railway Bell, South Woodford

Best barmaids in the area by far

Luppolo, Wanstead

Nice Pizzas but don't light a match whatever you do - all that hairspray and aftershave will blow 'em all to kingdom come.

The Toby Carvery, Snaresbrook

Ridiculous queues, Soggy meat, Soggy veg? You must really despise your parents / grand parents if you take them here for Sunday lunch. I long for the days of the working man's bar with it's Jukebox and cramped pool table. Churchill must be turning in his grave.

The Fine Line, Canary Wharf

The "fine" line - how very inappropriate. Terrible, overpriced greed hole. I was watching a footy game there and the charmless landlord was openly mocking the very people who were lining his pockets. Hopefully the BeneBene empire will replace this awful place soon.

The Bootlaces, Tottenham

Better in the summer when the beer garden is in use. Nice range of spurs memorabilia especially the Bill Nic painting. I'm going to sort out a Terry Naylor picture for the bar

Jets Wine Bar, South Woodford

Switch is a great place to see celebrities. I saw Jade Goody from Big Brother and she was very polite, Is she related to the old lady who works at Wood's Fish n Chip shop?

The White Hart, South Woodford

The White Hart is being done up at the moment. They're knocking down the side bar and building a conservatory extension. Hopefully all the yuppies from Queen Mary's Gate will demand a decent boozer. Does anyone know if Mick and Kiwi are still going? beep beep beep beep yeah
