Mr Thomas' Chop House, Manchester

A very nice pub if i'm honest, yes they've tried to emphasise on the food side of the trade but a lot of pubs have since the smoking ban, it's definitley not a reason to winge. The food that i saw being brought out looked very appetising and the smell from the kitchen was fantastic

Now for the important bit, The Beer, yes it tasred good and no, it wasn't the cheapest pint in Manchester but you get what you pay for, a well looked after beer an a city centre pub. I hate to say it but if you drink in a city centre pub, you must expect to pay city centre prices, and comparing the prices to other pubs around it, you couldn't got it much cheaper anywhere nearby!

The Sawyers Arms, Deansgate

Looks like a nice old boozer from the outside but once you walk in you can tell they've tried to update it, some say it's good, some bad. The beer was average to be fair, i've had better and i've had a lot worse. My only real grumble is that although they had Sports news on, which i do like to watch while supping a cheeky afternoon beverage, i don't think the whole pub wanted to hear it and they could've turned the volume down a little or tried to isolate it to one area of the pub!

The Knott Bar, Deansgate

CAMRA manchester pub of the year 2009 and rightly so, a good variety of real ales on, good selection of bottled beers, some you'll know and a few you won't. Again, this was an afternoon visit so i can't comment on how busy this place gets but i'm guessing by previous reviews that it's very popular, which you can easily see why. I'll definitely be visiting here again next time i visit Manchester

The Deansgate, Deansgate

Popped in here on a random afternoon crawl through Deansgate on the usual hunt for the real ale, nicely laid out with some interesting features, interesting choice of beers although my mate thinks his Deuchars IPA was nearing he end of the barrell there are no major complaints. Over all, a nice place tro call in to but couldn't spend a whole evening here

Sinclairs Oyster Bar, Manchester

Can't really comment on previous posts but it doesn't feel like a theme pub in the slightest, it's one of the original buildings outside Manchester cathedral and as so makes it an interesting part of a very busy, modern city.
The outside area is huge considering it'sa city centre location and the beers (being from Birmingham and never tried Samuel Smiths) is very good. It tasted like it was well looked after and i for one will be returning.

The Moon Under Water, Deansgate

Doesn't look big from the outside but once you walk through the front door it does open up, you can tell it's an old theatre. once past the bar it opens up a bit and there is more room upstairs. Quite quiet for a daytime so can't comment on how busy it gets but judging by the location they must be doing well. Prices aren't bad for a city centre pub (even a 'spoons) but edven in a pub this size, 3 (so i'm told) bars might be a tad excessive! over all, not bad beer and fairly quick service made this a pleasent visit!

Trof Northern Quarter, Manchester

Popped in here for a cheeky one on the way back to my mates place, doesn't stock your usual expectation when it comes to drinks but then again, it's not one to complain about either. Interesting range of draught lagers, a range of bottles that won't be beaten by anyone nearby and an awesome selection of whiskeys and bourbons. Didn't try the food but what i saw looked good and after browsing the menu i am tempted to pop back to sample the delights.
Over all, it's an interesting looking place that you wouldn't find if you didn't know it was there, hence there's no idiots or scallies. Definitley one to visit if you're in the area!

The Three Tuns, Sutton Coldfield

i agree, it can be a bit pricey, 3 for a Guinness is a bit steep but to be fair, i don't go here for the prices, i go because it's easy to sit with mates, enjoy a beer and a chat and not have to put up with idiots.

The The Gate Inn, Sutton Coldfield

i'll have to agree with the comment below, i was also there that evening, the music wasn't the initial reason for visditing, but it sure is the reason we stayed

O'Neills, Sutton Coldfield

I think this place has lost it's attraction, it always seem quiet in here and i'm sure the smokers hate it as they probably feel like they are being punished everytime they go for a smoke! Other than that, good beer, average prices and better than some pubs in sutton!

Station, Sutton Coldfield

Visited this pub on many occasions, beer is always good if a little pricey.
On my last visit which was a Bank Holiday Sunday, the atmosphere was awesome, the beer garden was full and the music was fantastic.
One point to note, and i don't know how the manager and staff do it, there is never any door staff herer yet they seem to keep the idiots away. Well done
