The Jersey Lilly, Bristol

loving the banter between mousefan & jellytot...
tending to side with mousefan though.
Good luck to the next tenant, the old/existing one evidently had a struggle.

The Clyde Arms, Redland

very clicky pub. Don't go in unless you're with someone who knows someone etc. Good for darts but thats about it. Terrible smell when I went on Monday 9th Aug. Must have problem with drains. Had to sit in courtyard which was rather quaint and drew a wry smile.

The Jersey Lilly, Bristol

Payed the Jersey Lily a visit about 2 weeks ago and there were 2 ciders, 4 ales & a lager sold out. This was on a Tuesday. Went in again last night (Thursday) and all the same beers were again "sold out" and I was informed that the delivery was Friday. Fair enough, I thought, but how the f**k does a quiet pub like this possibly sell so much from the start of the week that it has run out by Thursday (or even Tuesday on the previous occasion). I read all these comments about how this pub is great and the huge selection of beers available. WHERE? Very badly run pub. VERY bad. S**T!!
Sort it out!!

Cambridge Arms, Redland

In response to recent comments by MisterX, I would like to defend The Cambridge Arms. I am the manager of this establishment and I would like to apologise for the lack of ESB but also to explain why?
With regards to other beers i.e. Butcombe, London Pride & Discovery, we have 2 lines for each so when one barrel goes the other is ready to pull through. The ESB and the regularly changing guest ale only have one. The ESB is a slow seller and we can regularly ullage 3-4 gallons a week as I will remove it from sale after 5 days in order to maintain its optimum quality. Then the line has to be cleaned in order that the next barrel is of the highest standard. Sometimes during busy periods this is impractical and I am sorry if it causes inconvenience. I aim to serve the highest quality beer at all times and hope my customers understand the effort I go to in order to make this available. Please come and see me if you experience any further problems. Apologies again. Paul

Great pub, great beer, great food.....definitely the best in the area.
And the beer garden in the summer is THE place to go.
Cracking Sunday roast too. Top marks.

The Jersey Lilly, Bristol

Went in this pub on the Thursday before Good Friday and the atmosphere was non-existent. Got a nice 'hello' from the girl behind the bar but upon leaving no-one said anything, even the landlord who was sitting at the bar.
Some background music wouldn't go amiss here and a cheerful farewell bid.
