Good real ale pub. Had a day in Chesterfield and finished up here. The best of the bunch. 8 different real ales on and 1 scrumpy. Seemed a bit more real. Staff were friendly (invited us to a wine tasting!) and got chatting to some regulars who were very enthusiastic about the place. Will be back.

Very poor!!
Ordered fish & chips, the fish was frozen in the middle!
When i mentioned this to the member of staff who cleared (35 minutes later) it was just a shrug of the shoulders and back to their conversation. I tried a pint of brampton ale, usually very good, but this tasted acidic and off. Its a real shame as I have visited this pub in the past and it has been good. If you are serving frozen food let people know! don't have signs up about new menu's. a lot of work to do, but I hope they can turn things around

Poor ale!! The thing about having multiple real ales on is that you have to be pulling them through within 3-4 days. This pub had aroungd 10-12 on mid week and the quality just wasn't there! we tried 3 and decided to leave! On the plus sie, the staff were nice and it is a lovely looking pub. just beware of the ales midweek
