The Red Lion, Little Missenden

A nice, old fashioned pub - good food.

The Half Moon, Harrow

Last went here on a Friday in Sept '10 when they had live music - we had a good evening and pub was packed. Prior to that had been on a few Sunday evenings when they have live 'open mike' sessions. These were good but I think they have fizzled out?

The Coach and Horses, Ickenham

I used to drink here nearly 40 years ago and visited recently it just 'for old times sake'. It looks virtually the same from the outside and has a good carpark as before. Sadly for me it is not now really a 'pub' as it is part of the Embers Inn chain and is more like a restaurant in atmosphere. (very corporate ) I cannnot deny it's comfortable with leather sofas, open fires, courtesy newspapers, beer garden etc. The food seemed quite expensive (but looked ok). Beer selection was bog standard. It seemed pretty busy at lunchtime, and apparently also gets busy early evening. I went down the road to the Soldiers Return instead!

The Soldiers Return, West Ruislip

Popped in here for lunch about 2 months ago, after first trying the C & H down the road and not liking it. The (newish) Landlady was really friendly and I had a really good value lunch with a real warm welcome. Pub very quiet, but she deserves to succeed.

The Queen's Head, Pinner

A good high street pub. I have been here a few times especially Sunday lunches which are really good value, full roast dinners with all trimmings - worth going

The Woodman, Eastcote

Thjis is one friendly pub! Alan the Landlord is really great and a real supporter of LIVE music. Try attending the Jam evening on wednesday evening 9pm. There's a large marquee-type space outside for those who smoke, at the back is a large newish bar for functions.
