The Old Forge, Otterbourne

We live nearby (no - we're not their friends!) and were keen to visit after it was recently refurbished. Very good indeed. Still more of a restaurant than a pub but very nicely fitted out and very comfy after a walk. Would recommend as a pub or as a restaurant. Useful seating area outside but no play area for kids.

The Rising Sun, Wooton

Been here quite a few times with the kids 2003 - 8. Great play area and great New Forest location. Food above average but not brilliant. Service above average.

The High Corner Inn, Linwood

Visited July 2008 as part of a Sunday family cycle ride (it is the 'official' start point in our guide). Small play area for the kids. Bit of a wait for the food but was a very hot busy day. Food (carvery) was very tasty with good portions. Will go again and will recommend. Great cycle ride from there too.

The Sir Walter Tyrell, Brook

Visited 6.30pm 14th Aug 08 (Thurs). Family of four with two young boys 10 and 9. Quite busy but prompt courteous and efficient service from East European staff. Food good. New play area very good. Apparently new owners since January. Good location, short walk to Rufus Stone. Will recommend to friends and will go again (next week actually!)
