The Merry Harriers, Hambledon

Moved nearby 6 months ago and as we didn't have a kitchen for 8 weeks, ate out a lot. Of all the pubs in the area, this is the one we use all the time. Very welcoming landlord and lady and in probably 20 meals only one has disappointed - son claims their burgers are the best anywhere, wife claims same about Sunday roast. Menu pricing is a bit all over the place though - 15 is a great price for a rib eye (and a tasty one too) with all the bits but other thins seem pricey. Beer is well kept. Last visited on a cold, windy January Tuesday and had to wait for a table, so something must be right.

The Squirrel at Hurtmore, Hurtmore

Bit lacking in atmosphere but food and ale were good.

The Dog and Pheasant, Brook

Personally think it's gone a little down hill since the summer but still nice enough country pub.

The White Horse, Hascombe

What has happened? Almost like someone is hoping to sell, absolutely rubbish and used to be very good, although always a little expensive but you don't mind paying up if it's good.

Ye Olde Ship Inn, Guildford

Pub Messenger has it spot on. The pizzas are thin and crispy, so not to everyone's taste, but I think they're fab. Pleasant staff (usually of the Saffa variety) and a convivial atmosphere. A very pleasant place to while away the hours whils the wife shops! Now open all day too.

Pub, Chilworth

Used to be great for food but now it's like a Berni Inn. Needs a good lick of paint too. 5/10 is generous.
