The Morpeth Arms, Pimlico

Why have they changed this pub? It was a lovely old boozer. I always used to pop in when going to the Tate. Now ruined with new furniture, a clone makeover and the most expensive food menu you can imagine. Nearly 9 for some camembert? You must be joking... Sad times leave it well alone.

The Maid of Muswell, Muswell Hill

Not a bad pub really. You must consider what else is on offer before being too harsh! I know it's costly and a bit unusual inside, but the staff have always been pleasant enough to me. It is my local so I do tend to go because it's closest to the house! Good selection of beers and wines, clean interior and plenty of outside seating; covered and heated for smokers if wet or cold. Food isn't that great but it seems popular enough. Overall I suppose it's pretty average... but Ive had some good nights there. The Famous Royal Oak is far superior mind.

The Sekforde Arms, Clerkenwell

I like The Sekforde Arms. A traditional pub in an area where many of the drinking establishments are ladened with Clerkenwell idiots. There is of course a time and a place for the trendy booze halls, but this is a great getaway! It's old fashioned and bog standard; which is sometimes just what you want. I tend to escape here when my locals get too busy with those that think they are trendy or young...

The Slaughtered Lamb, Clerkenwell

The Slaughtered Lamb is a lovely pub when it's not over crowded with a certain type of delusional local Clerkenwell clientele. Most week nights are great; as is early on a Friday evening...I tend to get there at about 4pm! It does get very busy later in the evening with gentlemen who seem to be unaware that their trousers are somewhere around their knees. This also means that you can wait 20mins to be served. Bar staff are split between very nice and damn right rude - you will be served but ignored by some of the girls who seem to think they are very much above the task at hand. This all said it's a lovely pub to sit in, great decor, large windows and fantastic Paulaner on tap. Also red Stripe and Kirin along with fairly pricey but excellent pub food. When it gets too busy head round to The Sekforde Arms on Sekforde Street a proper old boozer

The Star Tavern, Belgravia

A delightful little lash hall in the heart of Belgravia. Not to be missed. Staff most polite.

The Holly Bush, Hampstead

THE GREATEST PUB IN THE LAND. This is a wonderful wonderful place. Wooden everything and slightly worse for wear. Is perfect. Hidden away in Hampstead, so you have to know it's there, doesn't get to busy apart from weekend evenings. Excellent food, from pint of prawns to wonderful pies.. great selection of beers, and wines and everything else you could ask for. Have been going for years and hasn't changed a bit. You are just as likely to find yourself sharing a pint with Sean Bean of an afternoon as with one of the regulars. This is what a pub should be. Just wish i could spend everyday here...enjoy!

The Famous Royal Oak, Muswell Hill

A decent local pub, away from the trendists of Muswell Hill, so more relaxed, you will also get a seat on a Saturday night. Juke Box, Pool Table, Football on TV, Fruit and Games machines. Not super cheap, but we are in London. You may also bump into the mighty Ferry Penwick of East Enders fame...

The Victoria Stakes, Muswell Hill

This is a great little pub with decent gastro grub. Good beers and lager's, great wine and even a cocktail list. Doesn't look much from the outside, but do venture in, you will not be disappointed. However if you want fruit machines, pool and a juke box, go round the corner to The Famous Royal Oak. This is more wooden floors and furniture. a great boozer.
